In Depth

Show Format:
Primarily an audio-only talk show, the actual format varies from show to show, ranging from episodes consisting of discussions between the hosts to in-depth interviews. Fetish Flame has done one multimedia podcast, which featured photographs by Steve Diet Goedde, in conjunction with an interview with Steve Diet Goedde.

Show Content:
Fetish Flame is an adult podcast dealing with sexually and other wise explicit subject matter, primarily fetish and BDSM topics. Subject matter has included latex fetish, forced feminization, rope bondage, and interviews with folks involved the fetish and BDSM communities, both professionally and not.

Presentation:
Husband and wife team Atticus and Nova have an intimacy and openess between them that makes for great chemistry in the podcast. Tending toward informal, conversational discussions of the topic of the episode, they convey an impression of being strongly united in their exploration of kink, whether as it applies to their relationship directly or whether they are exploring it simply for the sake of curiosity.

The dynamic of their relationship influences the feeling of the whole show, allowing them to attain a level of friendly intimacy with their guests that is unusual in a podcast and unsurpising- the guests attain a high comfort level very quickly, regardless of their experience as public persons or interview subjects, and are clearly relaxed and enjoying themselves and the interview.

The show strikes a good balance between factual and educational material and the less tangible and more difficult emotional-sensory/sensual aspects of kink. The latter, more than the former, is where I find the most value in the program. There is a vast amount of strictly factual information online and in numerous publications dealing with various aspects of kink, but most fall short on the discussion of why folks get into the scene, and what keeps them there. Fetish Flame covers that aspect and helps to fill that gap.

Final Thoughts:
Fetish Flame is both one of the first podcasts that I began to listen to regularly, and one of my personal favorites. This is a show that brings together all of the factors that help a podcast make the leap from "interesting and listenable" to absolutely enjoyable - dynamic hosts, good guests and subject matter that the hosts truly love.

An absolute pleasure of a podcast. Atticus and Nova, you do great work, have a fun and fantasitc show. Fetish Flame gets an unconditional recommendation.
